• Tasks for July.........

Well, we are our second month into a very dry spell. This is proving very challenging for gardeners and whilst we all enjoy the warm and sunny weather, a good dose of rain is much needed.

    Jobs for the month:

    Harvest early potatoes.

Continue to pick sweet peas to prolong flowering.

Take cuttings from your favourite flowring shrubs.

    Hoe regularly to discourage weeds.

    Plant autumn flowering bulbs.

    Dead head bedding plants.

Dead head roses to encourage continuous flowering.

    Propagate strawberries.

Lift onions after their foliage has yellowed.

    Remove lower leaves on tomatoes.

    Happy gardening,
